Green Bean Casserole – Healthy Recipe

Green bean casserole is a simple and stylish side dish which is perfect for unique occasions just like the International women’s day get-together party celebrated in my office where I surprised them with a green bean casserole dish. Basically, a green bean casserole side dish is a must-have during Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner, but that doesn’t mean it cannot be prepared every other day.

Similarly, Green beans are unripe, youthful fruit pods of numerous cultivars of the common bean. Furthermore, green bean is powerful source of folate, protein, fiber, potassium, zinc and iron. As a result of all this nutrient contains in this young fruit optimal health is achieve whenever it is being consume.  

Nutritional facts of Green Bean Casserole

However, green bean casserole are good source of antioxidant that helps protect cells against free radicals and promote good health, in the same vein the fiber, potassium, calcium and folate are great for cardiovascular well-being in other words healthy heart is achieved.

Protein content in these legumes which the body needs to build blood, bones, and muscles, repair tissues after that makes hormones and enzymes on that note it help lower blood sugar and also prevent onset of diabetes when eating regularly.

Green Bean Casserole Good for Women

Folate which is also known as folic acid helps the body maintains and produce new cells particularly red blood cell,  adequate consumption of superfood like green bean enables formation red blood cell in the body. Consequently, the antioxidant present in legumes helps prevent cancer subsequently, reduces the risk of heart disease.

Certainly folic acid reduces anemia and blood pressure in women for that reason women should not fail to include green bean to their regular diet.

Above all eating more of these legumes also prevent birth defects in pregnant women in addition the calcium content in this legumes help strengthen the bones, that is to say it also build strong bones for the unborn child.

Ingredients

4 cups fresh green bean

1 cup of condensed cream of mushroom soup

1 cup French fried onions

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instruction

First of all wash the fresh green bean and trim both ends, put in a pot, add little water and boil for about 5 minutes, remove from fire or microwave drain the water then rinse with cold water after that drain spread to dry.

Secondly, take a large bowl mix the 1/3 cup of fried onions, mushroom soup, green bean, and cheddar cheese.

 At this point heat the oven 350 degrees.

On the other hand get a saucer pan for baking and pour all mixed ingredients into the pan and place into the oven.

Bake for close to 25 – 30 minutes

Finally, the remaining fried onions top it up to the already baked green bean and allow cooking for another 5 – 7 minutes remove from oven delicious dish is ready.

Notes:

Canned or frozen green bean can also be used to achieve the same purpose it simply means the quantity will change it may be less or more depending on the occasion.
