How to Fry Plantain – Fried Sweet Plantains

Ingredient List

  • 4 plantains ripe
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil


Instructions on How to Make Fry Plantain

  1. Firstly, cut the both ends of your plantains off and remove the skin. lengthwise as preferred, medium-sized slices cut diagonally or cubes 1/2 inch thickness; sprinkle some salt and mix together.
  2. Secondly, heat the Oil in a skillet over medium-high or in a frying pan over medium to high heat.
  3. Thirdly, carefully add your plantain inside the oil in a single layer (Ensure you don’t overcrowd the Oil/pan).
  4. Next is to fry the first side for about 3 to 4 minutes. Thereafter, flip to the other parts and fry for like 3 to 5 minutes or until both sides are golden brown.
  5. Finally, remove plantains with a slotted spoon/ fork spoon and transfer them to a plate or tray lined paper towels and allow to drain oil.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining plantains in case you have more left and Serve hot or allow to cool to room temperatures!
