Similarly oatmeal with dates is a staple breakfast in Nigeria and can be easily prepared. Oatmeal is made from oat grains which is scientifically known as Avena sativa and is commonly eaten as breakfast worldwide.

Oatmeal help reduce blood sugar: this is mainly for the people suffering from type 2 diabetes, the Beta-glucan present in oat are soluble dietary fiber that delays the rate at which glucose is been absorbed into the blood. Hence increase insulin sensitivity thereby lowering blood sugar.

Helps lower cholesterol:  this diet helps lower cholesterol level as a result of Bata-glucans content. Bad diets are the root cause of bad cholesterol in addition oats contains soluble fiber that reduces LDL cholesterol level. 7 – 8 spoonful of oatmeal

8 pieces of dates

1 cup of almond Milk

Cooking oatmeal

Use a clean pot, heat up your water

Add your oats into the boiling water and stir, after that ensure you have enough water in the pot that covers the quantity of oat poured into that pot.

As the oat start bubbling, stir frequently to reduce the bubbles before it overflow and cause a mess on your stove top.

If well-cooked it has a creamy texture, turn off the heat.

Finally serve on a bowl plate add your milk and dates

Breakfast is ready!!!
